The Artisan Difference (Quality & Authenticity)
What do DOP and IGP labels actually mean?
These are legal certifications from the European Union. DOP (Protected Designation of Origin)guarantees a product is 100% produced, processed, and prepared in a specific region using traditional methods. IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) means at least one stage of production happened in that region. These labels are your guarantee of real Italian vs. Italian-sounding.
Why does my olive oil look cloudy?
Don't worry! High-quality, unfiltered olive oil may appear cloudy due to tiny particles of olive fruit. Additionally, if the oil gets cold during transit, it can partially solidify. Simply let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours and it will clear up without any loss of flavor.
Are your ceramics lead-free and food-safe?
Yes, all our hand-painted ceramics (like our limited-edition oil bottles) are 100% lead-free and meeting FDA standards for food safety.
Product Care & Storage
How should I store my Extra Virgin Olive Oil?
Keep it in a cool, dark place (like a pantry), away from the stove or direct sunlight. Heat, light, and air are the enemies of fresh oil. Always ensure the cap is tightened—our bottles are designed with specific seals to keep oxygen out.
Does Balsamic Vinegar need to be refrigerated?
No. Due to its natural acidity, balsamic vinegar is shelf-stable. In fact, refrigeration can make it too thick. Keep it at room temperature in a dark cupboard.
Cooking & Inspiration
What is the "Golden Rule" for cooking Italian pasta?
Always use a large pot of heavily salted water (salty like the sea). Never add oil to the water, as it prevents the sauce from sticking to the pasta. Most importantly, save a cup of that starchy pasta water before draining—it’s the secret to creating a silky, restaurant-quality sauce.
How do I use Truffle Oil without overpowering my dish?
Less is more! Truffle oil should be used as a finishing oil, never for cooking. Drizzle a tiny amount over risotto, popcorn, or roasted potatoes just before serving to capture the aroma.
