Gran Cru Affiorato is made exclusively from olives grown and harvested on the Galantino estate. This extra virgin olive oil is obtained by the ancient method of hand-skimming the layer of olive oil that naturally rises to the surface after the olives have been crushed. Only 5,000 numbered bottles are produced each year. With delicate notes of fruit and almonds, this olive oil is best suited for delicately flavored fish, shellfish, and salads.

They only select the best olives from their groves near Bari, in Puglia, a region that produces more olives than anywhere else in the world. Galantino’s Ogliarola and Coratina olives are hand-harvested the traditional way, by shaking the branches of the olive trees so that the olives fall gently onto canvas “hammocks,” then milled with traditional granite millstones. Through cold extraction and strict quality testing, Galantino ensures that their extra virgin olive oil is consistently the best.
